One of the most influential progressive metal rock bands in Northern Europe “Opeth” will perform in Latvia for the first time on March 11th, 2021 in concert hall Palladium Riga as part of the latest album “In Cauda Venenum” tour. The concert's special guests will be the Icelandic classical rock band "The Vintage Caravan". Tickets will go on sale on Monday, July 13th 10:00 in bilesuserviss.lv.
Opeth is known as a Swedish rock band. They have earned the attention of repeated music critics over time ever since its debut album Orchid (1995) with its high-quality musical performance. The goal of the band's founders, back in the 1990, was to create the "most evil band in the world", and seemingly such a goal the band members tried to achieve by being strongly influenced by the heavy metal genre in the early days of their work. Alongside the heavy metal genre, Opeth's work features influences from progressive rock, metal, folk, blues rock, classical music and jazz music.
Opeth has released 13 studio albums, 4 live DVDs and 4 live albums (three that are in conjunction with DVDs). Opeth has sold over 2 million copies of their albums and DVDs worldwide. Opeth's latest album "In Cauda Venenum" (2019) is considered to be the most important performance in the group's work so far and is called the "happy thirteenth". According to the group's solist Mikael Åkerfeldt, who is also the group's founder and the only member who has been playing in the group since its founding, this album reveals both his own and the group's artistic values and musical style.
Tickets for the Opeth concert in the Palladium Riga concert hall on March 11th will go on sale on July 13th 10:00 and they can be purchased at “Biļešu Serviss” ticket offices and www.bilesuserviss.lv.
