Electronic music duo ELPO will release a new music video for their song “Labrīt” on 12 October, telling an emotional story about human connection and the importance of supporting one another. Alongside the video premiere, the duo have announced their first headline show, set to take place at Palladium Rīga on 2 April.
Tickets go on sale on 14 October at 10:00 via Biļešu Serviss. Members of Positivus Festival and the FBI Concert Club, as well as TVNET+ subscribers, will have access to an exclusive presale starting on 13 October at 10:00.
“Labrīt” explores the importance of having someone by your side during difficult times, particularly those moments when we struggle to make sense of our own thoughts but someone else notices what we are going through. Rather than drawing directly from personal experience, the song was inspired by relationships the duo have observed around them, reflecting the selfless presence, care and support people offer one another when facing life's challenges.
The music video was created in collaboration with Renārs Tukris and Roberts Samušs of Uzbur Production. It follows Amanda as she rushes down a corridor in slow motion, while everyday life continues around her. Filmed in a single continuous take at the Provodņiks creative quarter, the video captures the contrast between a person's inner struggles and the world around them, leaving room for viewers to find their own interpretations.
“We wanted to capture that feeling of loneliness when you're struggling with something in your own mind but don't want to burden others with your emotional baggage, fearing it might push away the people closest to you. It's like being trapped in a tunnel, where you lose sight of everyday life unfolding around you. You avoid confrontation, hoping that somehow, whether in the light or the darkness, those inner struggles will eventually fade away,” explains ELPO vocalist Amanda Bašmakova.
Alongside the video release, ELPO are preparing for their first headline show at Palladium Rīga. Following the release of their debut album “Brīvību meklējot” in February and a series of performances across Latvia, the duo are ready to take the next step. Their upcoming concert will bring together familiar favourites and brand-new music that audiences have yet to hear.
“We're incredibly grateful for the summer we've had and the opportunity to connect with audiences in different cities across Latvia. Being able to perform our music live and meet the people who listen to it has been a dream come true. Now we're ready to take the next step with a special ELPO concert at Palladium Rīga. We can't wait to see everyone in person again, perform our music and share some songs that haven't been heard before,” says the duo.
