Rising star Alec Benjamin, the talented singer-songwriter known for hits like "Let Me Down Slowly" and "The Book of You & I," is bringing his European tour to Riga, where he will perform at Palladium Riga on April 8th.
Alec Benjamin’s journey began when he traveled across Europe with his acoustic guitar, promoting his music by opening for established artists in France and Germany. When he couldn’t secure a spot inside concert halls, he played in parking lots outside major venues to attract attention. His lighthearted sense of humor, youthful voice, and pure, unfiltered tone has captivated millions of listeners worldwide through songs like "Water Fountain", "Let Me Down Slowly", "End of the Summer", "I Built A Friend", and "Paper Crown."
Benjamin recorded his debut single "Paper Crown" in his college dorm room and released it in 2014. A few years later, he followed up with "The Water Fountain", "End of the Summer", and "I Built a Friend". On 16 November 2018, he released the mixtape "Narrated for You", featuring tracks like "If We Have Each Other", "Water Fountain", "Annabelle's Homework", and "Let Me Down Slowly", which propelled him to global recognition.
At his concerts, Alec Benjamin performs with a full band, plays acoustic guitar, occasionally switches to piano, and engages with the audience as if they were old friends. His easygoing attitude and disarming smile remind us of a simple truth that many have forgotten—nothing in life should be taken too seriously. "I never feel like I'm at the top, but rather at the bottom, looking up," he humbly says.
In May 2020, he released his critically acclaimed debut album "These Two Windows" (Atlantic Records), which climbed to No. 8 on the Billboard album sales chart. In the following years, he released two more albums: "(Un)Commentary" (2022, Elektra Records) and his latest, "12 Notes" (2024, Elektra Records). As part of his tour, he will bring his heartfelt music to Riga.
